Best Week So Far!

Hey everyone!
 So I have really been giving my whole self to the people of Idaho.... I give my time, my energy, my talents, my blood.. and my hair. I cut all my hair off! 11 inches. I donated it. So that was weird. I love it though. It's so much easier to take care of, and It doesn't get as stat-icky and it looks so much healthier. =) I'm just going to go through my week because there were so many amazing experiences.

 Monday.. cut my hair, had a good lesson with a less active family. The spirit was there and we are becoming their friends. So that is good!

 Tuesday..We have been going around to all the less actives and sharing a Christmas message. Because it is Christmas, a lot more people let us in! The relief society Christmas part was fun. We sang some songs with them, but then had a lesson to go to. It was a good lesson. All the kids participated really well. Hopefully we said something that helped the parents. That is the family with the huge Great Dane. We found an over aged youth that we are going to start teaching and she is going to be baptized. Her mom isn't active so hopefully during the lessons we can help her!

 Wednesday... we taught the Mortensens (I sent their picture a couple weeks ago, the older couple)

He is so smart and knows so many scriptures. At dinner he would always pretend to be an investigator. So we just offered to teach them. It was really fun. He made it hard for us and we learned a bunch. He said he wants us to be the best missionaries we can be, that's why he made it hard. Later that night we were going to Sayers to ask a question but sister Sayer wasn't home so we couldn't go in. We decided to go somewhere else while we waited for her to get home. We went through the ward directory and a name stood out to us both so we went there. She is less active, and she seemed really lonely. So we shared a Christmas message, and talked to her for a bit. Cheered her up and let Sayers know later that she needs a friend. That was awesome. Someone in the 30th ward asked me to play the piano for the ward Christmas party on Friday. So I was excited about that. Got to practice a bunch on Thursday and Friday.

 Thursday we taught a lady named Sandra. She is the one with liver failure. Her friend came over and bore her testimony before, but had to go back home because her kids were home alone. Then we taught her the restoration and I think she felt the spirit. Her dog was kinda distracting though. :P I practiced the piano at the church for a while that day. They were kinda hard songs and I needed lots of practice. 

Friday, we visited so many less actives and shared messages with them-- it was awesome! We shared at least 20 messages this week! Did some more piano practicing and helped set up for the party. Then later was the party and for the program the choir did a flash mob and started singing in the audience it was fun. And I played the piano pretty good. Not perfect, but not bad.

Saturday was the best day ever! So was Sunday. Saturday we visited some referrals but they weren't home. On our way to the next place we planned I saw a road that one of our referrals lives on but we didn't plan to visit. The car pretty much turned itself that way and I was like "Let's go visit Wanda" So we went and visited her. She is a member, her husband is not. We went in and asked if we could share a Christmas message. She said "Of Course! Let me go get my husband.. he's not a member" She went and got him and he was a little grumpy because he had just gotten up from a nap. We shared our message then we were talking and I asked if we could practice the discussions on them since we are so new. He didn't seemed thrilled, but agreed. We asked when we could come back and he was like "oh, I thought you meant right now." So we did it right then! Taught the restoration, answered a lot of his questions and concerns and committed him to read the witnesses in the Book of Mormon. His wife told us yesterday that she had been praying for something like that and we were an answer to her prayers =) She didn't want to bring it up to him because he is not interested in religion at all. That was an awesome experience.. and we are going over there this Wed! Kinda scary, but awesome! After that we went to Kip's with Brother Stokes to teach him the Plan of Salvation. He was in a really good mood and he was talking and participating really well. I extended my first baptism invitation! And he said yes. Not until March, but he is still going to be baptized =) he came to church yesterday too. I think he liked it. Later was the normal drop off progress records to WML's. We had a really good report this week and we were so excited. it was fun. Sayers were in Utah so we didn't go to their house.

Sunday..after the 9 hours of church we taught Sandra the plan of salvation. The most amazing lesson yet! We had one of the ward missionaries there and Sandra's friend from across the street. The spirit was so strong. She didn't have many questions and the two sisters that came with us bore their testimonies so well it was amazing. Then the idea to invite her to baptism came to my mind and I kept holding off. But then I started to get really hot and I couldn't cool down. LOL. So I finally got the courage to invite her to baptism (second invitation this week) and as soon as the words came out of my mouth I cooled off and could think straight. She didn't accept, but she said she was going to pray about it. I have a really good feeling about her. She is so sweet and so strong. I just want her to accept! Haha. Oh ya, and I gave a talk in 30th ward. It was about the gift the savior gave us, and the gifts we can give in return. I read the poem I read at my farewell and EVERYONE has asked me for a copy. So I just carry tons of copies in my bag. Haha.

That was my fantabulous week! We are hoping for a good week this week too. We are busy. Lots of less active teaching and member teaching. So it's going to be good =) I love you all! Remember to think of the Savior this Christmas season. Think about the wonderful gift of the atonement. He overcame death and sin so that we can live with our families and with Heavenly Father forever!

Quilting, Snow, and a Special Baptism

Hey y'all

This week was a really good and fun week, though not very productive.

On Monday we taught a less active family and the spirit was really strong there.  The Dad of the family got choked up when reading one of the scriptures we read to him.

Tuesday we went to help a lady in our ward make a quilt.  We helped cut fabric and pin it so she could sew the crazy quilt together.  It was fun =)  The rest of the day we visited people but not many people answered.  We got invited to activity days again.  So we went and they had a gift exchange.  I got a hot cocoa mug.  Then we decorated cookies.  Those girls love us to pieces.  They were fighting over where we should sit.  Haha.  There is a non member girl that goes and soon we will hopefully be teaching her family!  Later was a relief society Christmas party.  Another gift exchange.  It was pretty intense.  Lots of running around. Lol... I got some lotion at that one.

Wednesday we helped set up for the Savior of the World play going on that night.  Then we taught a lesson to a less active couple.  They are so sweet.  And I just wish I could get into their heads how important church is!  We will get there =)  Later was the play.  It was really good.  Very spiritual!  We invited a bunch of people but no one showed up either night :/ So that was pretty lame.  But I had a really good experience!  On Sunday I was sitting in front of a someone we had taught previously.  During sacrament meeting I felt like I should share a scripture with here.  Seemed silly because I had no idea what she was having a hard time with.  But I did.  I wrote down the scripture and put down a little testimony of it then as we were leaving I set it on her lap and smiled then we left.  On wed she came up to me and gave me a giant hug and told me I was an angel.  She had read the note when she got home and she said that scripture helped her a ton.  It was a testimony builder for me because it helped me see that I really was acting on the spirits promptings. =)

Thursday we helped out at a relief society party again.  Served food and sat and talked with the ladies.  Lots of fun.  Later we taught a member family the plan of salvation.  But instead of teaching it we had the kids answer the questions, so really it was them teaching us.  It was more fun that way and probably more benefiting for them. There was the play that night again.  No one we invited showed up.

Friday we did exchanged with the sister training leader.  Sister Bowler went with her and sister Dunkle came with me.  It was fun to spend a day with sis. Dunkle again.  Friday night was 34th ward's Christmas party and we had a really cool experience there.  There was a homeless couple passing through and the bishop invited them to the party to get some food and get warm.  So they came and sat by us.  They were so sweet and they kept saying that the feeling in the church was so good.  They had a Book of Mormon already and he was reading a bunch of books about Joseph Smith... so I don't know why he isn't LDS yet. Haha.  We couldn't really offer to teach since they were headed to Oregon the next day.  But we gave them a tour of the church.  It was humbling to hear their stories. It snowed friday morning.  And sister Dunkle was so funny.  She was like a little kid on Christmas.  She sat by the door for like 10 minutes just watching it snow.  She was like, "it's so sparkely! I keep waiting for it to stop snowing and start raining."  It was great =)  We went and shoveled a lot of drive ways that morning in our skirts.  They don't plow the roads here!  So every single road is a sheet of ice and it is so scary.  They barely even sand the intersections.  Obviously the snow here doesn't usually stay. 

Saturday was Mandy and Triston's baptism!! My first investigators =)  It was amazing.  Mandy hurt her foot and is on cruches so we went back and helped her so she wouldn't fall down the stairs.

  I felt so much love and excitement for them as they both went in the water and came up clean and ready to receive the Holy Ghost.  I asked Mandy what had made her decide to get baptized and she said that her mother in law had been trying to get her baptized for 12 years.  All the missionaries that she saw couldn't answer her questions fully.  But we did.  She didn't even ask any questions while we were teaching her, but apparently she didn't need to ask because the spirit answered them.  That made me feel so happy.  And made me feel like a successful missionary!  I love them so much =)

 Later that day was 9th ward Christmas party.  It was Hawaiian themed. The entertainment was hilarious.  People dressed up at the dispicable me minions danced and it was just really funny.  Wish I had pictures but I don't. Sorry.

Sunday was another long day at church.  And afterwards both me and sis Bowler were so tired.  Sis Bowler is getting some kind of cold so she isn't feeling well.  We went to the Christmas devotional at the Sayers and I almost fell asleep.  We just had absolutely no energy.  But that's alright. =)

That was my week... Like I said, fun and busy, but not very productive when it comes to actual missionary work. It has been really cold though.  Not as cold as in Utah it sounds like.  It's been in single digits most of the day.  This week it will be back up to 40. I'm crossing my fingers =)  I hope you all have a great week.
Remember Christ in this Christmas season.  Remember the greatest gift anyone could ever give which is Christ's atonement.  Find ways to repay him by serving others and standing as a witness of him at all times and in all things and in all places.

Thanksgiving Week

Well.. I'm a trainer.  Crazy huh?  It's fun though =)  I think I am better and more determined when someone looks UP to me rather then EXPECTS something of me.  So I feel like I am doing better as a missionary since I have to be the example.

Last Monday we had a training meeting and dinner at the mission home.  So we got nothing done on Monday after p-day.
Tuesday we had to go pick up our new companions who just arrived from the MTC like I did two months ago. We were there all day so we got nothing done on Tuesday either.  I got my companion, Sister Bowler.  She is awesome.  She is so determined and ready to work.  Now that we are all settled in and we are starting a new week we are going to do lots of work.  Hopefully we can find lots of people to teach.  Sister Bowler is a lot like me.  She went to LDS Business college to get an interior design certificate, which is what I have! =)  So we both like to talk about interior design.  And she doesn't think I'm crazy when I start drawing sketches and floor plans during breakfast and lunch. Haha.

Wednesday we had dinner with President and Sister Cannon.  That was fun!  I felt kinda bad for Sis. Bowler.  First dinner in the mission and it's with the president.  But it was good.  I shared the poem that I gave in my farewell talk with them and they really really liked it.  Later we had some fall through lessons and just visited people. Got a bunch of referrals.  So that's good.

Thursday, Thanksgiving!  We hung out at Sayer's most of the day.  It was fun!  We had dinner at 2 then played games for the rest of the day.  We played Ticket-to-Ride.  Reminded me of home.  I felt right at home there, so that was great!  Later we went to the Sweets and had some pie.  I tried pumpkin pie again, even though I don't like it.  Still don't really like it --but I can handle it. Lol.

Friday was just a lot of visiting members to get referrals and such.

Saturday was Brennan's baptism.  It was great.  I gave the baptism and holy ghost talk.  They did it before the Stake baptisms because Brennan has a short attention span.  So my talk was like 5 minutes and most of it consisted of questions for Brennan so I could keep him focused.  After that was Mya's.  She is the most precious girl ever.  Adorable!  She was so excited to get baptized.  She told everyone she saw afterwords that she got baptized.  I saw Esther Palmer!! She was at the stake baptism and she came over and said hi.  I showed her a couple pictures of the family and we talked about Trenton and who still lives there and all that fun stuff.  Hopefully we will be able to go to their house for dinner in a couple weeks.  I want to see the rest of her family =)

Sunday was another long day of church and meetings.  7:30 to 4, and fasting.  But it went by pretty fast.  We both bore our testimonies in two of the sacrament meetings so that the ward could see us and here our testimonies.

We decorated our apartment yesterday.  Sayers and one of the bishops gave us 2 little Christmas trees and some lights and ornaments.  So we put that up.  It feels like Christmas!  We listen to Christmas music almost constantly.  Love it! =)

I think that's all the fun stuff going on... I hope it is anyway.  This Saturday is Mandy and Trystin's baptism.  I am so excited!!!!  Mandy hurt her foot this week so she has a boot and crutches.  She told me that if she needs some extra help then I am going to have to get in the font with her.  haha.  So that will be interesting. I discovered that she had only started coming to church at the beginning of October.  So when I was in the MTC.  I thought that was cool.

I felt really disappointed yesterday.  More then I ever have... So our investigators that are trying to stop smoking were doing really well.  We went over to see how they were and they suspiciously wouldn't let us in.  Said they were sleeping.  So I hoped that they really were just sleeping but had a feeling they were smoking.  Then we drove by their house yesterday  (which is right across the street from the tobacco store "When you gotta habit") we saw them walking home from there smoking :/ It was really sad.  Especially since they were so determined and excited.  I really thought they would do it.  Hopefully they can do it again.  I'm praying for them.

Transfers!

Hey!

I bet all of you are curious as to where I go transferred =)  Well I will go through the week and tell you at the end. Ha Ha

Monday was our last lessons with Mandy and Trysin.  They are getting baptized next Saturday.  There interview is today. We are pretty excited!!

This whole week we just went and visited all of the names that the leaders gave us in Ward Council.  We made contact with a lot of them, but didn't really get a lot of success.  We did meet a really nice lady who we are going to teach after Thanksgiving.  She has liver failure and is interested in what our church is about.  I think she is mostly interested in the free help we offer. Haha.  So I am excited =)  She is a cutie.

Wednesday was just more visiting, nothing special really other than district meeting.  That was fun.  We played a game:  Tic Tac Toe.  They set up 9 chairs in a square like tic tac toe, then we all stood in a line in two teams.  Someone calls out a topic found in the scriptures and we have to hurry and find it then run to a chair and as a team we have to make 3 in a row before the other team.  Gets a little violent and exciting.  But it was fun! We go out to eat after district meeting and we went to a pizza place that gives missionaries 50% off of everything plus a free drink. It's pretty awesome.  The owner likes to get to know the missionaries.  And he gives the missionaries in his ward free food whenever they want.  It was fun =)

Thursday was just visiting more people.  We met with the high council in charge of missionary work. He is awesome.  Way nice.  Talked about how the missionary work is going.  Some of the elders in the district are teaching so much that they barely have time.  It's pretty awesome.

Friday we did tons of visiting people.  In the morning we dropped off Sister Dunkle to go with Sister Davenport again because her companion went to the temple then left for home on Saturday.  So sister Dunkle was planning to be gone until Monday, but then on Saturday it turns out that she was transferring to Nampa North with Sister Davenport anyway, so she just came back, picked up her stuff, and left.  So she is gone :P  She is with the sister training leader. I wish her luck.

Saturday is one of my favorite days I think.  Cuz we get to report our work to the ward mission leaders.  Not only do we get to talk to them and joke and laugh with them, but we get to show them that we are doing our best and getting work done.  It is very gratifying. Saturday morning there were transfer calls.  As I said before, Sister Dunkle went to Nampa North.  Sister Zavala is going to Nyssa to train a greenie.  And I.... I get to stay =)  And, I'm training! I told President Cannon he was crazy. Haha!  I am so scared.  But excited too =)  So I have the same address as before.  I know who my companion is tomorrow.  They will all show up fresh out of the MTC.  I'm not even done with my training yet! Hopefully I know all I need to to know.  Cuz if I don't then my companion wont. Lol.

Sunday was lots of church again.  Lots of fantastic talks though.  IT was good.  By 2 o'clock I get pretty figity though. Haha. After church and dinner we went to the members that Sister Zavala wanted to say bye to and got pictures and they gave us stuff (even though I'm not leaving I got stuff ;))  Stokes gave us a glass with our names on it.  So cute.  Sayer's gave us a cute teddy bear.  And Sweets gave us one of his cool rocks. I'm so excited to be able to stay and go to the Sayer's house for Thanksgiving! It's gonna be fun!

Today the scariest thing happened!  It's transfers so we went to a church building to meet who we had to pick up and take with us until tomorrow and no one was there yet.  After about 10 minutes 2 other sisters drove up and were talking to us while we were sitting in our car.  This guy with a robe on and a cane came up to the car and it looked like he was going to go around, but he opened the door and got in the back seat!  We all jumped out of the car, kinda freaking out!  He just sat there in our car.  We were like "Can we help you?" And he kep shaking his head, and he was kinda zoned out.  I'm pretty positive he was high or something.  It was disturbing.  He said that his 'father' told him to come here and talk to us.  And he kept saying he wanted to get baptized.  Then when we asked what his name was he told us it was Jesus Christ.  His kids were there too.  They were like 8 and 13, and they were just standing in the cold while their dad was sitting in a strangers car shaking is head up and down, back, and forth.  The kids didn't seem right either. They were kinda weird.  We figured out the guys name was Jason, and he wouldn't get out of the car.  He kept saying that they wouldn't let him out.  IT was creepy.  We gave the kids some crackers and I gave the little girl my cloves and someone found a jacket.  (We were there at 11, they had been there since 9)  The girl kept saying she wanted to go home, but the dad kept saying that this was his home.  We couldn't get him out of the car!  So the elders pulled out there rugby ball and we played with the little girl to occupy her for a while.  We called the cops and they finally came.  At that point we got him out of the car and started walking away.  When the cop talked to him he seemed really normal, it was the weirdest thing ever.  I feel so bad for those kids!!  And the cop just let him go.  He was wacked out and I really wish the cop did something so those kids didn't have to put up with their wacko dad.  But whatever.  I lost my gloves from that.  Haha. Oh well =)  Nothing bad happened, it was just the freakiest thing ever!  It made me love my family so much more.  Thanks family for being normal!!!!!!!!

Well, that was my exciting week... I'll let you know how training is going next week.

A lady who has brain damage and short term memory loss.  We sang Christmas carols and old songs while I played the piano =)  I loved it!!!!  Reminded me of when I played at the center =)

OH ya, I remembered something else that happened... Some of our investigators, Darren and Jessica, finally quit smoking.  They haven't smoked since Friday.  We went over there Saturday to see how they were doing.  We asked if they had any more cigarettes in the house and they didn't.  But they did have some in the shed.  Darren wasn't very happy that Jessica told us about it. Lol. So we went out and got it and she handed over a huge box of tobacco.  So we put it in the trunk.  Felt weird.  The people we live with aren't home so we didn't really want to put it in our garbage can in case they saw it in there when they did get home.  That woulda been weird :P  So we asked the S


ayers if we could put it in their garbage can. haha! It was funny.  They were like... uh.. sure.  Interesting experience =)

Heya,

Well this week went by quick.  I can't believe November is half way gone.

Tonight we are teaching Mandy and Trystin their last discussion!  We will be doing some follow ups until their baptism which is December 7th.  Hopefully we can get Trystin's dad to get baptized as well.  We have been teaching them at the bishop's house and his dad hasn't been coming.  So hopefully we can catch him at their house.

Tuesday was Zone Conference. It was a lot of fun.  We did some games that they do at the Heber Valley Camp because there were some people that had served a mission there.  They served the same time we went there for girls camp. So that was cool =) Then we went on exchanges with the Sister Training Leaders.  Sister Bishaw came with me and Sis. Z. And Sis. Dunkle went with Sis. Davenport.  Sister Bishaw is going home next week.  So it was fun to work with a missionary who has served her full mission.  She taught me that it's okay not to know every thing and it's alright if I don't know what to say in some situations.  Because she still doesn't know.  That night we felt like knocking on one of the member's door and she was freaking out because she had to color this huge paper for YW in excellenceWednesday night.  So we helped her with that and she was so grateful.  It was huge! She would have had to stay up all night to get it done.  ( She is an interior designer =) We have a connection. Lol)

 Later that night we taught our new investigator, Kip.  He has Parkinson's.  Brother Stokes (WML) was there with us.  We had to teach slowly because he has a hard time talking and getting out what he is trying to say.  There were some interesting things he said that night.  I was having a hard time not laughing out loud.

Wednesday, we helped for YW in excellence again.  Then we visited some members.  One member is having a really hard time right now so we went to see if we could help her with anything.  We just talked for a while.  Later we went to the YW in excellence.  It was amazing.  I was having a hard time not crying. It was so cool.  I don't know if I can explain it.  But we sat on an airplane and talked about flying to our destinations which are home, family, and the temple.  (there might have been other destinations I don't remember).  The picture we helped color was at the front.  I will send a photo of it.

Thursday was kinda boring.  Didn't have much to do.  Helped with a play that is going on the first week of December.  Then went on splits with some of the leaders in one of our wards.  I didn't split, I just went with Sis. Z.  Some how we always get put together even when splitting. haha.

Friday more visiting. That's about it.

Saturday we did service for the play again.  We painted the sets. That was a lot of fun.. we did that almost all day. 12-4. it took forever!  Then we taught Brennan (another 9 year old investigator) his last lesson.  So he is ready to get baptized on November 30th. =)

Oh ya! On Saturday we went by every ward mission leader to drop of and discuss progress records.  The Sayre's aren't home, they are on vacation, but their house is always open so we dropped off the progress records and at the same time we heart (and turkey) attacked their house.  That was fun =)  And of course we got some hot chocolate out of their machine.  That is a must at the Sayre's.  We are spending Thanksgiving with them! I am so excited =)  They love ticket to ride.  I am so stoked!

We had Lasagna every night this week.  It was pretty hilarious!  I'm a little tired of lasagna. Haha!

One of the elders in our district said they met someone that knows me from when I was little.  But they don't remember who it was... do you know who it might be?  They are in the Nampa East Stake, not sure what ward.  I am really curious.

9 hours of church yesterday.  It went by pretty fast though.  So that's good.  I had a lot of candy to snack on. Haha. And there were a lot of things I learned in the classes.  Last night we were invited to the Sweet's (WML) because they were having a birthday party.  So we met their whole family.  Reminded me of my family get togethers.  Haha! They are loud and tell lots of stories =)  They made me play the piano.  Granted, they didn't have to push me too much. It was fun.  I played pirates and waterfall. I am surprised I remember them, though they need a LOT of polishing.

Week 4

Hey y'all,

I just have to say that this last week flew by.  We actually had things to do!! Haha. 

Monday was Sister Dunkle's B-day. Idk if I already said that.  That was fun to celebrate.  She got the best birthday present ever.  Another baptism!  The 9 year old red head we are teaching, Tristan, his mom decided to get baptized too!  At first she wasn't interested and was just there to support Tristan, but somewhere along the line she decided to get baptized too.  It doesn't sound like we are going to get transferred, at least not far, so we will most likely be able to go to the baptism!

A cool thing happened.  We went to the ward mission leader's house, Brother Stokes, and his family was across the street talking to their neighbor.  It turns out that his neighbor has never been interested in the church, but for some reason he suddenly is.  He is in his 70's I think, has Parkinson's so has a really hard time talking and remembering things.  So our teaching is going to have to be slow, but that's ok.  It was way cool!  Kip is his name.   Kip's wife isn't interested at all, but is very supportive of Kip, and she is just the sweetest lady! Hopefully we can get her interested as well =)

We are teaching another 9 year old boy who has some emotional issues and is hard to talk to.  He gets really angry over silly little things.  For some reason he just didn't want to get baptized until he was 9 even though his whole family are members.  So we have been teaching him the lessons.  He already knows it all so we go through it fast.  IT's awesome because he is calm when we teach and answers our questions really well when we ask him things.  He is coming out of his shell with us, so that is really good =)  He is a fun kid.

Wed was so fun!!! We got to go to mutual and talk about role playing to the young women.  They loved it.  And I loved it!  We just talked about how important it is to role play when doing missionary work and how much it helps when you actually talk to your friends about the gospel.  It really does!! I challenge you all to do it before talking to someone about the gospel.  It's one of the best ways to get revelation.  (plus you get the awkward things out of the way so when you actually talk to them you know not to say those awkward things ;))  Then we had the YW do role playing to some of the questions that might come up during school.  They are so much smarter than me! I was stumped on some of those questions but they were all so good and had good questions themselves. It was a lot of fun!.... And there were oreos =)

We went to the family history center with a potential investigator.  That was a cool experience.  We didn't do anything because the family history people took over since we didn't know what to do.  But we got the chance to learn at the same time and research some family.  It was cool.  My companion did a lot of indexing.  They aren't joking when they say that family history work brings the spirit, cuz I definitely felt the spirit just when researching 2 or 3 of my ancestors!  =)

So we discovered that our favorite ward mission leader, Brother Sayres, his daughter and grand daughter are inactive.  And we didn't know!  But they love us so much that they really wanted us to teach them the lessons.  Turns out that our useless visiting at there house wasn't useless.  Jennifer and Mersaydee are their names.  We taught them the first lesson and Mersaydee (Sadee) doesn't know much about the gospel, but goes to seminary.  I challenged her to participate in seminary as much as she can even though she doesn't know much, and I testified that if she participates that she will learn from the spirit so much faster. So I'm gonna have to follow up on that.  I love that family so much!!! We are going to go to their house for Thanksgiving.  We are hoping to get permission from the president to spend most of the day with them and play games and such.. cuz we have no idea what to do on Thanksgiving, no one will be home, and those that are won't want us to come talk cuz they will be busy.  But we are going to figure that out =)  They love ticket to ride!!  I'm excited!

Saturday we went to the 9th ward's super saturday and made crafts.  That was fun.  They gave us free crafts!  I made a cute JOY and a nativity jar candle thingy.  It was fun to meet the 9th ward sisters and get to know them better.  I think the wards are finally beginning to trust us.  We got 1 referral instead of 0 haha.  So that's good.

Then Sunday was lots and lots of church of course.  7 hours.  Long day!  We have been teaching a member family every other Sunday and they feed us tacos for dinner.  But we didn't communicate so we had two dinners that day, back to back.  We were stuffed after the first one so we prayed that we could have room for the next dinner. Haha! It was funny.  We had two desserts to.  I was so full!  Anyway... we taught the last lesson at their house and it was kind of sad even though we only taught them twice.  And we will see them at church.  But the daughter was so sweet and gave us a scarf.  Fun stuff.

 At a zone meeting we were challenged to read the Book of Mormon by December 18th.  We all got a new Book of Mormon because another part of the challenge is to highlight where there is a reference to Christ.  Every chapter so far has at least 5 high lights. Haha! It's so cool! I'm going to do that with different subjects I think... get a new Book of Mormon and read it and mark everything to do with missionary work, or something to do with baptism, or faith, etc.  I'm gonna have a lot of little blue Books of Mormon by the end of my mission.

That's about all this week. Like I said, we had a lot more things to do.  It was fun.  A good week. Send me letters!! They don't have to be long, and they don't have to be for a reason, just send them.  I love getting letters during the week!

Remember 2 Nephi 32:3, and Alma 13:24.... us missionaries need the member's help to find people that angels have been declaring to.  So pray for missionary opportunities, and feast upon the words of Christ so that you can know what to do when the opportune moment comes and be able to do it in faith.

Week 3: Halloween

Hola!

 Things aren't really picking up, but they definitely aren't as slow. We are still only visiting members and less actives because there isn't much else we can do. This letter might not be very long because we honestly just went down the list of members and went to say hi and ask for refferals. I think we are gaining the trust of the members though. So we should be getting more refferals. The little nine year old we are teaching is going to get baptized on Dec. 7... so I am hoping I don't get transferred!! I love this area! The people are awesome. The mission president says he is going to split our area. So it will be the 34th ward as one area and the 30th and 9th ward as another. But I am torn... Because our investigator is in 34th ward but my favorite family is in the 30th ward. So it's kinda a perdicament. Haha! I will probably get sent somewhere in Oregon in the mountains where there is tons of snow because I know how to drive in the snow..(and because I hate the cold and snow). It's so weird how much my companions know about me and vise versa. They know more little things about me than my siblings do. It's pretty funny when one of my companions will tell a member what I prefer to drink, or what I'm going to say and that really is what I want to drink or what I'm going to say. . It's pretty crazy. I still love driving. I know the area so well now. If I go out of the area I would be lost. But as long as I stay within the boundaries I'm good ;)

 It's been pretty warm.. Not hot, but not cold. Other than the rainy days. I had an experience with not listening to the spirit and it was really sad :P... We have a guy in our ward that isn't baptized but is really strong in the church. He doesn't want to get baptized for some reason, we don't know why exactly. But we think it has something to do with his wife being inactive. She doesn't want anything to do with the church and only a handful of people have actually met her because she is so good at avoiding us. We were going to visit someone and I thought we should go visit this guy, Kirt. But I decided we would go after visiting this other guy. We pulled up to Kirt's house after and his wife had just pulled in about 2 minutes before. She ran inside and when we knocked Kirt answered and said they were doing something so we had to leave. If I listened and we went earlier we would have already been in the house and met the wife. I don't know what would have come out of meeting her. But I wish I had listened. Next time! That's my sad story for the week. We are looking for service opportunities because we are so bored! It's hard to find things to do, and visiting members gets long and monotonous. No one would let us do service and no one was calling us, so we too the Luna's rakes (the members we live with) and started raking their yard. We were planning on walking down the street and raking peoples yards, but it turns out that the Luna's yard was bigger then we thought and it took a couple hours. But that's alright. It looked good. But I have bruises on my hands now, so every time I shake someone's hand it hurts! haha. It's kinda funny. There was kind of a cool experience after raking on Saturday. We decided to visit one of the mission leaders to report what we had done during the week (which was pretty much nothing but visiting LOL) and he was out with his family accross the street. So we went over and it turns out that his neighbor was suddenly interested in taking the discussions. It's kind of complicated, but we are going to try to teach him next Tuesday. He is an old man who has Parkinson's and sometimes forgets what he is going to say. So we are going to have to take the lessons really slow and repeat things a lot. I'm glad I got a chance to work at the assisted living cuz now I have more experience with that =) It should be fun, he is a really cool guy!

 Halloween was fun! Went to all the trunk or treats. Met lots of people. But we had to meet them again out of their costumes because we didn't recognize them. Haha! One of the bishops dressed up as kiss. And my favorite WML is in one of the pictures, he is the one with the mullet. (pictured on the left.)

 So the three of us sisters connected really well with one of the WMLs and his family. They are the most amazing people. They love us, and we love them!! They have a hot cocoa machine and they told us to go over anytime and get some even if they weren't home. So we did once. It was a rough day and we wanted hot chocolate so we went to the Seyers and went in while no one was home. Then we left a note on a napkin. It was funny. They loved it. We like going over there on Sunday nights because we are always tired and grumpy and they cheer us up so we can have a better rest of the night. They are awesome people. I'll get a picture of all of them at one point in time =) I think that's pretty much all that has happened! I love being so intune with the spirit, and I wish I figured out how cool the scriptures are years ago!! I challenge you to read Ether chapter 12.. It is my favorite chapter!
