Message from the field February 1st

Hey peoples =)

Did anyone else notice how random the weather was this week??  Sunny, then rainy, then so cold and foggy, then sunny again, and now raining!  Maybe that's just in Idaho.  haha

Monday night we had an awesome FHE lesson at the Yoders house.  They had an empty nesters and invited us to teach the lesson.  So we talked about how to study from preach my gospel and committed them all to read it.  Then we taught lesson 3 just like we would have to an investigator.  It was awesome.  They were all so enthralled and the spirit was so strong!

Tuesday was fantastic.  So many great lessons!  We went to zone meeting,

 then ate at Panda Express.. love that place.  Then we had to go to Les Schwab to get our tires aligned.  Then we had dinner and brought those memebers, the Tophams, with us to the Vincents house to teach them some commandments.  Awesome lesson!  They are all awesome at the Vincents.  Jerry is so so so ready to get baptized!  He just has to decide on a date still.  We then went to see what the scouts were doing.  They needed help with dinner and dessert, so we helped them for a while.  Then we had another really really awesome lesson with Scott.  He is a sort of recent convert, of like 3 or so years.  And he just got out of prison.  He has a completely changed heart, and is so willing to let Christ make him better.  It's amazing to see.  There is just a bright spirit about him everywhere he goes.  We talked about the restoration and Joseph Smith.  It was a lot of fun because he already knows a lot, so we went into a little deeper discussion with him than we would have with an investigator.  It was cool.

Thursday was so crazy.  We taught Sherri.  Great lesson!  She is going to get baptized Feb. 27!  She just has to stop smoking, and come to church every week... which she is doing great at so far!  We went to the Hortons and read with the girls again.  And I did their hair again.  They love that =)  We also saw Mike.  We think he can get baptized on the 27th too.  We shall see.  We are hoping Jerry will accept that date as well!

Friday I got to go to Sweet Idaho with Sister Mackelprang!! We had tons of fun =)  

Sister Krauss came here with Sister Clegg.  Me and Sister Mack had a great lesson Friday night.  I'm pretty sure we said 10 words.  We brought a member who is very talkative.  But it's a good, powerful talkative.  She connected so well with the 3 investigators!! It was so awesome.  She just kept going and going and taught practically the whole lesson, especially talked about the atonement.  It was so cool to see and feel the connection she had with one of the investigators who is trying to decide what to do.  He just went through a bad break-up and needs something more in his life.  So she was able to connect with him and tell him how she went through things like that and how she handled them.  It was amazing.  Have I said that enough?  haha!

Saturday morning we helped the senior center with a big project.  Then we went to lunch at the pizza place, Garbonzos and got a french fry pizza.  It was good!

  Then we walked from the church around the horseshoe because the son was out and it was such a nice day.  We ran into the Treats and helped them clean their walls a little bit.  Then we went and helped Sister Lewellen with some technical things she couldn't figure out.  Then we went to the Hicks and taught Sherri.  Great lesson!  We went over the baptismal questions to see what Sherri needed to work on before baptism.  It wasn't our plan, but nothing was coming to mind that went along with the plan, so I felt like we should take a different route, and it went so much better.

Sunday was a long day of meetings.  After Church we went to the treats and planed to teach the plan of salvation, but I felt like we should go over the baptismal questions again.  It worked out really good.  We talked a lot about all aspects of the gospel and we were able to discern what is keeping Hank from getting baptized.  We voiced a lot of concerns... and now the only thing left is his cigar.  So he got an amazing blessing.  I am really hoping that his faith in that blessing is enough to help him stop.  I know it can help him... but he has to know that for it to work.  Later, Sister Clegg had to write something so we went to the church and I finally got to play the piano while she wrote.  It was really nice, and much much needed!!  My fingers are going to need a lot of re-training to be able to play fun songs when I get home and not just hymns.  haha =P

Well I had a lot to say... haha  Hope I didn't put you to sleep.

I learned this Sunday... again (seeing as I have learned it multiple times on my mission) that if we want to find ourselves we have to lose ourselves.  We have to lose our life in the service of Christ.  Doing what Christ would, and doing our best to serve others.  That is the one and only way to truly figure out who our spirit is. =)

Email from January 26th

So we go to the senior center every week, and it's so fun!  We help in the thrift store, serve food, talk to people, and I've recently been playing a game of pool with one of the old guys.  He loves it.  Serving people is one of my favorite things to do!

We taught a lot of lessons this week to people.  The Vincents are doing so great.  Jerry is getting closer and closer every time.  I can feel it!  They came to church yesterday, finally.  He just needs to feel like he can set a date and a goal.  We also taught the treats.  I have never seen someone so into one thing... Hank loves round dancing.  It's pretty much all he talks about!  If you bring it up at all he will talk about it for an hour and you can't talk about anything.  Even if you don't bring it up he will talk about it for an hour.  haha!! It's cool.  He knows a lot about it.  

Sister Lewellen is the one that called mom on Wednesday.  I was right there by the phone.  haha.  It was fun =)  She is so great!  Has such a great, funny personality.  She is the relief society president and is always serving anywhere she can.  She helps us out all the time.  Love her!

On Thursday we went to the blue and gold banquet.  It was great!  There were a lot of non-members there.  They had a dessert auction.  Some of those desserts went for like 50 bucks.  Those auctions are so fun, and such a good idea for a fundraiser.

Friday was MLC.  We have a lot more Sister Training Leaders now.  There was 3 pairs, now there are 5 pairs.  So we won't be quite as busy.  Sister Breen and Dunkle are STL companions right now. I hope they have a good time!  The STLs are making plans for Sister's conference.  I am so excited!  It's going to be a personality theme with the personality colors.  And you know that quote on my wall above my window, "The road to success is always under construction." We are going to decorate with that theme.  It's going to be a blast.

Saturday morning didn't start out very well.  But we were able to help a family in need.  We got a text letting us know that one of the less actives we are working with, Liz, her son died in a car accident Friday night.  He was 20.  The family is devastated.  We had planned to help sister Lewllen with a relief society project that morning so we headed over there and told her the news so she dragged us inside and had us make cookies.  We make cookies then went over and gave them to Liz and her family.  Poor Bella, she is 9, she is mad at her brother Austin and mad at God for taking him.  She is having the hardest time I think because she doesn't understand.  We did our best to comfort her and tell her that her brother is right by her side now all the time.  That he is happy and in no pain. It helped a little, but she still doesn't understand why he had to die now.  Liz is having a hard time too.  She is a single mom with 3 girls.  Not active, though the 2 girls go to mutual.  When we went over we just cleaned out the fridge and did the dishes and organized some kitchen cabinets to try and help her out.  She knows there is a reason for what happened, but she is having a really hard time knowing what that reason is and accepting the fact that it happened.  If you could pray for Liz Astle and her family, they could use all the prayers we can give.  They are a sweet family and this whole thing put a damper on our weekend because we love them and wish it didn't have to happen.

On a better note... Sister Clegg and I have been working on making the church look better so when investigators come and new people it will look good.  So we re-did the missionary boards.  Still in the process, but they look better.  And the relief society boards.  They look awesome!  It's a lot of fun.  And I think people will notice.  Hopefully something good comes out of the little changes we are making!

I have been reading the Continuous Atonement by Brad Wilcox.  Awesome book!!  Love it! =)  If you haven't read it, I highly suggest it.  It makes the atonement so much easier to understand and comprehend. Helps me realized that even though I am not perfect, and can't be perfect, God and Jesus Christ still love me.  They still want me to return to them, and I still can because of the atonement.  Because Jesus Christ payed for my sins so that I could be perfect... SOME DAY.  God is only as perfect as he knows how to be... same as us.  We are only as perfect as we know how to be... that is why we learn.  So we can BECOME like God.  Not so we can be like God now, but so we can eventually, over time, be like Him.  I've learned so much about the atonement... more than I ever have before in the last month.  And there is still so much more to learn.

Transfer Week: January 19th message

I'm still in New Plymouth!  Super excited!  And I'm still with sister Clegg.  Makes me wonder if I will stay with her for the rest of our missions, or if she will leave for our last 6 weeks.  Hopefully we stay together the whole time. 

We had a crazy week.  I'm so ready for the sun to come out!  Why does the first month of the year have to be the longest and most dreary?  I guess that's better than the middle of the year being that way.

On monday we played some minute to win-it games.  It was pretty fun.  A lot of the missionaries just wanted to play sports... they are boring.  But those that played with us had a fun time! =)  

Then we went to teach Zelle at the Grovers.  It was a pretty good lesson.  Taught her the restoration.  She is 15 though, so I'm pretty sure everything we said went in one ear and out the other.  haha.  We will see if she is interested next week.  Her mom who is less active listened and loved it though.  

Tuesday we went to the Hortons and played Catch Phrase for a while.  They said that we really bring the spirit in their home and really lighten things up.  They love it because it's really hard for them right now.  Their mom is still suffering with cancer.  I also did the twins' hair.  Braided it so it would be curly the next day.  They loved it!  I really love that family.  It's so sad to see them all suffering so much.  I'm glad I am able to be their friend!

Wednesday we went to a stake correlation and talked about how to better the missionary work in the stake.  It went well.  Our stake president is awesome!  After that we came back to New Plymouth and contacted a bunch of people.

Thursday we were at Horton's again. We helped them go through clothes that were too small for the girls. They really appreciated it.  Got it done quick.  Then we went to the Moscrips for dinner.  They invited us over with 2 of his business partners. (this is the millionaire family).  It was awesome.  We had some great gospel conversations.  And they asked us lots of questions about missionary work.  It was good, fun, missionary oriented dinner.  Something both me and Sister Clegg needed.  It was definitely a rich business man's dinner. 

Friday We just contacted a couple people.  Not a lot happened.  Saw and talked to a couple people we haven't for a while, but nothing really came of it.  There are those days that you are there for a reason and you touch their lives and they let you know.... and then there are the days where you don't feel like you are doing anything.  On those days what you are actually doing is growing and helping yourself.  Learning how to be diligent even after a long hard day.

Saturday we took Mike to the Spanish baptism.  He seemed to like it.  We just wanted him to witness a baptism, to see what it's like.  The Spanish sisters and elders actually needed me to play the piano.  They didn't know anyone who could play come thou fount.  They sang the same thing sister Bailey did in La Grande.  Come thou fount music with Joseph Smith's first prayer words (In Spanish).  It worked out perfectly since I had written the music to the arrangement.  So I played for them.  It was pretty cool.  I'm so grateful for my talent of piano!  It is so much fun.  And I love being able to help people and brighten their day with it! =)

Sunday was really long.  We were both kind of tired of church and ward council.  In both ward councils they didn't really talk much about missionary work.  They talked about menial things for ever.  So we were frustrated.  Then our investigator that promised would come didn't.  So it was just a frustrating day for both of us.  But I got spiritually fed a LOT.  During sacrament meeting the word 'Soul' stood out to me in the sacrament prayers.  I thought about how it doesn't say anything about our bodies in the prayers.  Only our souls.  The sacrament is food for the soul.  It really does clean and strengthen us for the rest of the week.  Before yesterday I just took the sacrament without a ton of thought.  I thought about Christ and what he did for me, and I thought about how I could be better during the week.  But I never thought about the strength the sacrament could give me.  Reading the scriptures and praying every morning is a spiritual boost for the day... taking the sacrament is a spiritual bomb that lasts the whole week!  It's pretty cool! =)  So that helped my day get better.  And the Mia Maid adviser came into Relief Society and asked us if we would come teach her class because there wasn't a lesson prepared.  So we went to Young Womens and they asked us all kinds of questions about being a missionary.  It was so fun! I hope we got them excited to be missionaries!  That gave us the push we needed to go work the rest of the day.  I love church!

That was our crazy week.  Lots of ups and downs.  Pushing through hard times and looking back at all the blessings.  Good week =)

We are reading Jesus the Christ together as a companionship.  It's a long process but we are almost halfway done!  It is such an amazing book!  I am learning so much about Christ.  I'm also reading 'The Continuous Atonement' by Brad Wilcox.  Also an awesome book about Christ.  They are so good.  I recommend both of them =)

Remember that Christ doesn't just make up the difference, he IS the difference!  He isn't asking us to repent so we can pay him back, but so we can learn for ourselves.

January 15th email: From the Mouth of Babes

We had a really fun week.  It was pretty busy though.  And both me and Sister Clegg are emotionally, spiritually, and physically worn out!  But we still push through and get 'r done!

Exchanges this week were with the Parma sisters, Gibb and Miller.  And the Spanish Ontario trio, Gutierrez, Stadler, and Carrasco.

I got to go to both Parma and Ontario.  On exchanges no one one was home.  Then later I learned that no one was home in New Plymouth either.  Or Fruitland!  I think everyone everywhere was just gone!  But I met a really awesome member family.  Sometimes on those bad days you meet someone who just cheers you up!  It's a fantastic thing.  I'm very grateful for those people.

The other exchange was on Friday and Saturday.  I went to Ontario to the Spanish area.... needless to say I understood nothing.  =P  So that was weird.  But it was very cool to listen to the sisters teach and know exactly when they were bearing their testimony because you can really feel the spirit when testimonies are borne.  The spirit speaks to all whether they understand or not.  In all languages.  I had never experienced that before.  So it was an amazing experience for me!

We were able to teach Sheri this week.  She started out saying she had gotten her answer to know if the church is true.... she said she got the answer that the church was right for some people, but not right for her.  We didn't know what to say.  So talked about discerning spirits.  And how sometimes God with holds our answer for a big so we can learn.  Though she said it wasn't for her, she didn't sound very confident in that answer.  She kept saying that she felt lost now.  We explained that is because she wants the church to be true, God is just letting her figure things out right now.  So she pushed her baptism to Valentines day.  She still wants to get baptized, so that's good!  I'm sorry if that made absolutely no sense.  I did my best.  haha.

We went to a less actives house this week and had a really good conversation with her and her husband about church.  Then she came to church on sunday!  It was so awesome!  I love seeing less actives come back to church.

We help out at the senior center every week.  In the thrift store and serving lunch.  We have a lot of fun there.  Trying to make ourselves known in the community.  Everyone loves us.  Hopefully we are making a good impression for the church!

On Sunday we went to teach a young family.  They are active members.  But she asked us if we could teach her the lessons so that she can teach her little girl the gospel when she gets older.  She lacks confidence in her teaching skills.  So we have been teaching her simply and trying to help her teach.  This week we asked her to role play to her little girl, Nichole, who is only 6 months old.  She didn't feel comfortable and didn't know where to start so we did it.  We have never taught a baby before.  Haha!!  It was so adorable though.  Because as we were teaching her the first discussion... the restoration, she had the funniest reactions.  It seemed like she understood everything we said!  She probably felt the spirit.  At the climax' and exciting parts she would lean in and watch you so intently, then she would make a screech or something and get so excited.  It was so funny.  I had to take a video.  Babies are really just so close to the veil.  Honestly, one of the things I am super excited to do in 3 months is hold a baby.  It's been way to long!  haha =)

So that was our week.  It was an interesting one, but still good.  I love it here!

I found this scripture in Romans 5:19 this week....

"For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous."

Our example shows whether it's a good example or bad example.  So be a good example!!!! =)

January 5th Message from the Field

Hey! So this week just kind of flew by.  It consisted of 4 exchanges!  So needless to say... I'm really glad to be with my companion.  She is the best.  I am much more appreciative of her now that I can't be with her all the time.

Monday we went on exchanges with Sister Paxton and Ma'ukoloa.  I was in Fruitland with sister Paxton... and walking.  That was fun, and cold.  I was exhausted.

Tuesday all day I was with sister Paxton, then we did a last minute exchange with the other Fruitland sisters Tuesday-Wednesday.  They live in the same house, so I just switched beds.. haha.  I stayed in Fruitland again with Sister Johnston this time.  Sister Fox went with Sister Clegg.  This time we had a car.  I am so grateful to have a car!!!!  

New years day I was with my companion!  It was nice.  We saw a lot of people.  It was awesome.  Went down to sand hollow and taught our investigator, Jesse.  He doesn't remember a lot of things.  But he has a sincere heart and will probably get baptized soon.  =) 

Friday brought another exchange.  2 actually.  We went to Weiser's district lunch and had a short exchange with the McCall sisters.  Sister Bowler! And Clarke.  They are doing great together, so we didn't feel like we needed to use that many miles to do a 24 hour exchange.  Then Sister Keyser came to New Plymouth with me and Sister Nelson took my comp to Weiser.  But guess what she kept!  Our phone!  So we had no phone.... and we got lost going to dinner!  So we stopped and asked an older guy who was out shoveling his walk if he knew how to get there.  He didn't because they just moved from Boise.  But he knew who we were!  He said he loves the sister missionaries.  His wife is a member and he referred to himself as a 'dry Mormon'.  We asked if we could use his phone to call our dinner, and we got directions. Then we gave Hank our number so he could call us for help with unpacking.  It was a blessing that we ran into him.  A miracle!  And it wouldn't have happened if we had a phone.  So I'm really glad we didn't have a phone that day.  Even though it would have been nice to have. =)  God is in everything... everything happens for a reason.

Saturday we worked on a list of less-actives that the relief society president gave us because she didn't know if they lived there or not.  So we went searching.  We didn't find any, but we did find our non-member friend who goes to the exercise class with us.  We didn't know where she lived, but then we found her!  We introduced the Book of Mormon to her and committed her to read it.  Hopefully we can start teaching her! Her name is Phillis.  She is super sweet!  Then we went to Alona's, our possible Russian investigator.  They were having a Russian Christmas party and invited us in.  haha.  It was kind of awkward.  We didn't really stay long.  But it was good because we made our selves known to her co-workers.

Sunday was a long day of meetings.  Both ward councils. It was good though.  A lot less overwhelming than the first time when I knew nobody!  Now I know most of the people.  I'm loving this area.  I'm getting my bearings pretty good.  Know my way around mostly, and I know a lot of people now.  =)  I can't believe next week is the last week of the transfer!  December went by way too fast.  I knew it would... but I didn't think it would go that fast!

Sister Clegg and I got our trunky papers on Saturday.  Weird?  I think YES! So I filled them out and mailed them.  I'll be done with my mission April 14th.  It's comin' up fast.

Thanks for all the Christmas cards and wishes this last month.  They really boosted my spirits and made me feel loved and happy.  =)

Merry Christmas!!

It was so fantastic talking to my family!  It's was weird though.  I'm excited to actually talk to you, not through a device.  haha =)  Brigham seriously sounds like dad.  And everyone else just looks older.  Stop growing up people! Isn't time supposed to stop when I'm gone? ;)

 

So this week was fun.  We went to a Christmas party/ wedding reception on Monday night.  We saw one of our potential investigators.  So that was pretty fun.

Tuesday was super crazy.  We were supposed to go on exchanges with one of the spanish sisters.  But for some reason they had to cancel last minute.  So that didn't happen.  We went to district meeting...my first one here.  Our whole district is sisters.  Except for the district leader and his companion of course. So that should be interesting.  After district meeting we went to the Hicks to help her make Christmas plates and then we helped her deliver them. That was great!  Helped us find people we didn't know.

 Wednesday we went to lunch with a ward mission leader, Sister Hooper.  She is so sweet!  We went to a delicious pizza place, Garbonzos.  1 of the 2 places to eat in New Plymouth.  Great thing with small towns... the places to eat are always amazing.  (As long as they aren't sketchy;))  Then we went and saw the Hortons.  Debbie is still doing alright.  Made it to Christmas.  Those girls are so strong to see their mom have to go through this.  I look up to them.  I want them to have the gospel in their lives so they can have that support.  We then hopped around to different families and joined their family parties.  It's always weird to go to someone's family parties. I always feel like I'm intruding.  But we did have a lot of fun.  We had a very authentic Jerusalem dinner.  There were a few things that I would have again, but most of it I wouldn't care to try again.  haha =)

Christmas!!  My family is awesome!  We had a great time with the Hick's Christmas morning.  They invited us over at 7 am so we could watch all the kids get up and out of bed.  They were all super groggy.  Then we opened presents with them.  Sweet kids.  Then we skyped!  That was a blast as always!  My last time skyping.  That blows my mind.  We then went to Christmas dinner which was fabulous, then we went to a baptism.  His name is Neil.  He is in the Ontario singles ward.  Not the kind of person you would have thought would get baptized.  Somehow I got roped into playing the piano.  But I'm so glad I did, because there was an amazing spirit there.  Neil received the greatest gift Christmas day.  I can't think of much else that can top getting baptized! =)  It was a very cool experience.

Friday we were supposed to go on exchanges with the fruitland sisters.  But Sister Clegg woke up super sick with a flu.  So we stayed inside all day.  She slept most of the day (or tried). There were a bunch of crazy kids upstairs stopping and screaming away.  So it was hard to sleep.  I got a lot done while she was sleeping.  I organized a lot of my papers and my desk.  And I read a lot.  Sometimes it's a blessing in disguise when your companion is sick.  It's not fun for the companion, but you can get a lot done.

Saturday, even though sister Clegg still wasn't feeling great, she was determined to do something.  So we visited a few people, but in the end we just headed home so she could sleep some more.  But those 2 people we did visit were super good visits.  The Lord provides miracles when we do what we can.  We had a conversation with Sister Vincent, a less active.  She made a goal to read all the ensigns this year.  And to try to come to church.  Then her non-member husband came in and offered to show us his store.  So we went to his store outside and talked to him about making a baptismal goal.  So he will be thinking about that this week!  The Lord has prepared him so much!  He is so ready.  He is just a stubborn cowboy =)  His name is Jerry.  So pray that he will set a date! =)

Sunday we went to 2nd ward church, Sister Clegg got a blessing, then we headed home.  The kids were still running around upstairs so Sister Clegg couldn't sleep.  So we pulled her mattress out to the kitchen next to the heater so she could  be warmer and so the heater would muffle the kids.  It worked really well.  haha =)  She slept for 3 or 4 hours straight.  And I was stuck in the bedroom reading and writing and napping.  Then she woke up for an hour, then went back to sleep for 2 more hours.  Her body was exhausted!  Somehow she convinced me to let her go to dinner.  So we went to dinner and had steak of course.  That didn't make her feel very good :P  But God helped us out... the Cables (who we had dinner with) invited us to watch the Tabernacle Choir Christmas concert with them.  It was a blessing since Sister Clegg felt so sick.  She was able to relax and feel the spirit with some members.  God works in little ways like that, then we do our best... like I said before =)

So that was our crazy week =)  I really hope I don't get sick.  That would be lame.  I've still only gone on 1 exchange when we've had 4 planned!  So we dont' have time to get sick again.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas filled with love, joy, peace, Christ, and the spirit.  Have a wonderful new year.  Make some good, not too hard, goals that you can keep ;)

Every year from now on I am going to have a one word focus every year.  This last year was the word 'Be...'. The point of the word be was to help me be myself.  Be what I want to be. Be like Christ.  Be like my hero.  Be whatever!    So this year my word is 'Explore'.  I'm going to explore myself this year.  Explore everything I can.  People, places, school, myself, challenges, emotions, whatever I can =)  

You should try a one word focus!  They are pretty cool.  Not overwhelming, yet the word can be on your mind all the time.  I make a collage and put it on the wall so I can remember it every day.  Maybe try that if you want. =)  I highly suggest it.

Busy in the Service of the Lord

I have never been so tired in my life!!  It's been a great week.  But a crazy one.  And every week this transfer is just going to get crazier!

Started with Monday, obviously... usually does.  Had a crazy time making Christmas cards and going to the church to say hi to other missionaries.  Then we went to the Hortons.  We read a little bit with the girls.  Then we had a really good conversation with their mom, Debbie.  Debbie is dying of cancer.  Hoping to make it to Christmas.  We talked to her about how to have more faith.  And that there is life after death.  She already knows that, but we gave her Alma 34 to read.  Which talks about both faith and the plan of salvation.  So hopefully she read it and liked it.

Tuesday we taught our investigator, Sherry.  She had a baptismal date for January and we are hoping she keeps it.  We had an awesome lesson about the plan of salvation and helped her answer some of her questions.  She is headed up to Alaska this week. 

Wednesday was Christmas conference!  This is the first conference in 9 months that I haven't had to spend the night in the mission home because we live so far away.  haha.  Now we are only 45 minutes from Nampa.  I had an awesome time at conference.  The spirit was so strong!! 

 Sister Cannon did a Living Christ for the program.  It wasn't exactly like the one's I've done.  But she modeled it after those.  It was pretty cool.  There were a lot of musical numbers.  I played a piano solo, "Silent night/Still Still Still" by Sally Deford.  Then I accompanied Sister Lyman to "Gesu Bambino" (Amazing voice she has) then last minute I was asked to accompany a group of 5 with Away in a Manger.  I got my fair share of playing piano that day.  haha.  It was fun.  I'm so grateful for the talent I have for playing the piano.  It's been so useful on my mission.  Thanks mom for making me practice! =)  

When we got home we went to mutual.  They were caroling  so we joined them!  Our investigator, Mike, was driving the horses that were pulling the sleigh.  It was great fun!  And we got to talk to Mike a bunch.

Thursday we went to Ontario for a stake correlation meeting, then I got to go with Sister Breen for the day!  We had a great time talking about the fun times we had in Weiser.  I can't believe that was almost a year ago!  Time goes by so fast when you look back... and so slow when you look forward.  Wish I could just always look to the present to time would go moderate. haha =)

Friday we did weekly planning then went to dinner.  It was an awesome dinner!  We went to a part member families and it didn't seem like he was interested in us.  But then we invited him to watch He is the Gift with us and he really enjoyed it.  Then we started talking about what missions are like and how we go on missions and such.  It was a great conversation!  We had another great conversation with some non-members.  They were so nice, and we talked a lot about Christ and how he is the meaning of Christmas.  They were super excited to watch the He is the Gift video as well.

Saturday we went out to lunch with a member.  All the way out to Sand Hollow.  I got a crazy sandwich.  It was good though.  It had ham and turkey and cheese between french toast with powdered sugar on top.  Yum!  Not that you cared to know, I just thought it was a crazy sandwich.  haha!  

Sunday after church we went to some peoples houses.  I was super bold on Sunday.  I don't know why.  Actually, I do know why.... it's because the people we saw needed to hear what I said and the spirit told me to say what I said.  It was very cool.  We went to two part member families.  In both families the wife isn't a member.  So we went to ask if either of them wanted to get baptized.  Neither did, but we said some things that will make them think.  It was awesome to feel Heavenly Father working through me!

And that brings us back to Monday.  We are just going to relax and clean today.  We need it.  I hope next week is crazy too!  Makes for a better week! =)

I hope you all have a Merry Christmas! And I hope that you all remember Christ throughout the season.  He really is my best friend.  He is my brother.  He is my Savior.  He is my healer.  He is the ear I turn to.  He is my comforter.  The list could go on.  He is kind, loving, patient, forgiving, a friend, perfect, strong, courageous, fabulous, generous, amazing!  I love him, and he loves me! =)  I'm so glad I've had this 14 months to get to know him by serving others.  I've been so blessed to have this opportunity!
